Where to get help
If you need help editing or submitting your draft, please ask us a question at the AfC Help Desk or get live help from experienced editors. These venues are only for help with editing and the submission process, not to get reviews.
If you need feedback on your draft, or if the review is taking a lot of time, you can try asking for help on the talk page of a relevant WikiProject. Some WikiProjects are more active than others so a speedy reply is not guaranteed.
To improve your odds of a faster review, tag your draft with relevant WikiProject tags using the button below. This will let reviewers know a new draft has been submitted in their area of interest. For instance, if you wrote about a female astronomer, you would want to add the Biography, Astronomy, and Women scientists tags.

The KMUTT Library
The KMUTT Library[1](Thai: āļŦāđāļāļāļŠāļĄāļļāļāļĄāļŦāļēāļ§āļīāļāļĒāļēāļĨāļąāļĒāđāļāļāđāļāđāļĨāļĒāļĩāļāļĢāļ°āļāļāļĄāđāļāļĨāđāļēāļāļāļāļļāļĢāļĩ; RTGS: hong samut maha witthayalai theknoloyi phrachomklao thonburi; colloquially âBangmod Libraryâ, Thai: āļŦāđāļāļāļŠāļĄāļļāļāļāļēāļāļĄāļ; RTGS: hong samut bang mot) is the central academic library of King Mongkutâs University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), located in the Bang Mot Sub-district, Thung Khru District, Bangkok, Thailand. It serves as a key academic and research support center, providing comprehensive learning resources, digital services, and collaborative study spaces for students and faculty. Established in 1988 and renamed in 2000, the library has become one of Thailandâs leading university libraries, recognized for its modern facilities and innovative approach to information access.
In May 1988, the library at King Mongkutâs University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) was formally established by Royal Decree as the âOffice of the Library and Information Services,â marking the institutionâs commitment to providing organised academic and researchâlibrary services on the Bang Mod campus.[2]
In October 2000, the University Council approved a name change, and the library became officially known as the âKMUTT Library,â aligning its identity with the universityâs mission and emphasising its role as a centralised resource for teaching, learning, and research.[3]
Following its establishment and re-naming, the KMUTT Library has developed significantly â moving from manual catalogue systems to a fully-automated and digital environment, integrating e-books, databases, and digital archives to serve science, engineering, and technology disciplines.[4]
Milestones include the acquisition of an integrated library system (ILS) in 2013, expansion of interlibraryâloan and digital services, and the creation of dedicated learning spaces and study zones to enhance collaboration and access to resources for students and researchers alike.[5][6]
The KMUTT Library, reflecting the identity of King Mongkutâs University of Technology Thonburi, adopts the universityâs official emblem[7], colors[8], and philosophy in its symbolism.[9] The university seal is modelled on the royal seal of King Mongkut (Rama IV) and features the Great Royal Crown at its centreârepresenting the kingâs name âMongkut,â which means âcrownâ in Thaiâflanked by two nineâtiered royal umbrellas and encompassed within concentric circles containing the universityâs name in Thai and English. The official colors, yellow and orange, symbolize dynamism, energy, and creativity, reflecting the institutionâs emphasis on science, technology, and innovation. Together, these elements express the universityâs motto, âThe trained man winsâ (DantoâSeáđáđhoâManussesu, āļāļāļšāđāļâŊāđāļŠāļāļšāđāļâŊāļĄāļāļļāļŠāļšāđāļŠāļŠāļļ), emphasizing the importance of learning, research, and knowledge dissemination. Through its design, services, and educational mission, the library embodies KMUTTâs philosophy of fostering creativity, academic excellence, and societal contribution.
KMUTTâs Bang Mod campus is accessible by several modes of public transportation. The area is served by BMTA bus routes that operate along Pracha Uthit Road, with bus 75 and bus 21 providing direct access to the university entrance. Additional routes such as 140, 141, 142, 138, 82, 20, and 6, operate along nearby major roads including Suksawat Road and Rat Burana Road, from which passengers may walk or transfer to reach the campus. Travel within KMUTT is supported by a campus shuttle system, including electric âHop-on Hop-offâ vehicles that circulate through major academic and administrative zones.[10] Bicycle services at KMUTT are available at the Green Society Building and a bike repair center.[11][12][13]
Access to the KMUTT Library is available through both pedestrian routes and the internal electric shuttle network. The EV service operates on a loop that connects primary campus areas, including the Presidentâs Office, student dormitories, classroom buildings, the Faculty of Science, and the central canteen, with a designated stop at the library. This route facilitates convenient movement for students, staff, and visitors traveling from different zones of the Bang Mod campus.[14][15]

KMUTT Library (Thai: āļŠāļģāļāļąāļāļŦāļāļŠāļĄāļļāļ āļĄāļŦāļēāļ§āļīāļāļĒāļēāļĨāļąāļĒāđāļāļāđāļāđāļĨāļĒāļĩāļāļĢāļ°āļāļāļĄāđāļāļĨāđāļēāļāļāļāļļāļĢāļĩ) is the academic library of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), located in Bangkok, Thailand. It serves as the universityâs central hub for information resources and academic support, providing services that promote education, research, and knowledge development. The library offers both physical and digital services including circulation, reference assistance, inter-library loan, digital archives, and collaborative learning spaces.
The KMUTT Library traces its origins to 1973, when it was first established as the âLibrary Divisionâ under the Universityâs General Affairs Division.[21][22] It served this function for over a decade, providing essential library services to support the university community.
A major transformation occurred on May 5, 1988, when the institution was elevated by a Royal Decree to the âOffice of the Library and Information Centerâ (KMUTT Library and Information Center).[23][24] This marked its official establishment as the universityâs central organization responsible for managing library and information resources.
On October 19, 2000 (B.E. 2543), the University Council approved the simplification of its English name from âKMUTT Library and Information Centerâ to âKMUTT Library.â This change was later formalized in the Thai Royal Gazette on June 7, 2004, which officially designated its Thai administrative title as âāļŠāļģāļāļąāļāļŦāļāļŠāļĄāļļāļâ (Office of the Library).
Since then, the library has continued to evolve, adapting to new technologies and educational needs. It has expanded beyond traditional book collections to become a comprehensive digital and learning resource center. The library now integrates modern facilities such as the Learning Exchange (LX) Building, providing collaborative study and innovation spaces for students and researchers.[25]
The KMUTT library is officially part of the Office of Academic Resources (OAR) at King Mongkutâs University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), is organized and managed under the supervision of the university administration. The OAR is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining the libraryâs operations, collections, and digital resources to support teaching, learning and research within the university.
[26]
The library system is structured into several functional divisions:
Responsible for policy implementation, planning, human resources, financial management, and overall coordination of library operations.
Information Resources and Technical
Handles collection development, acquisition of print and electronic materials, cataloging, metadata management, and database subscriptions.
This division also collaborates with national networks such as ThaiLIS and TULIB for standards and resource sharing.
Provides frontline services such as circulation, reference assistance, research help, information literacy training, interlibrary loan, and access to digital resources.
Specialized service units located in specific schools or institutes (e.g., Engineering, Architecture, Energy). These branches coordinate with the main library to support discipline-specific learning and research.
Upon entering the building, the visitor contact desk is located on the left-hand side. Visitors can register using a national identification card or passport at an automated registration kiosk next to it. Opposite the contact desk is a book borrowing kiosk.
Access to the main library area requires tapping an identification card at the entrance gate. Immediately to the right of the gate is a book drop area for returning borrowed materials, adjacent to a co-working space (KLINICS 4) that includes a drink zone. On the left side of the entrance is the Information Commons (KLINICS 1), an area equipped with computers available for student use.
The first floor also features a large chessboard and a public piano available for visitors to play. There is also Meeting Rooms /Classrooms (LIB114 & LIB108), located toward the back of the floor.[27][28]
The second floor consists of the Hall of Fame and the Archive that are freely open to all. It includes the KMUTT Archive, which contains information about the university itself, as well as the King Rama IV Archive.[29]
The fifth floor features both open study areas (KM Stands) and group study rooms (KM Rooms).
The area includes a total of five rooms: KM1 and KM5, which accommodate 3â4 people; KM2 and KM3, which support groups of 5â6 people; and the KM4 room, which is for study recording. These rooms can be booked on a day-by-day basis exclusively on this floor.[32]
KMUTT Library provides a wide range of physical and digital resources that support learning, researching, and innovation for all academic purposes in KMUTT. Its collection and services are designed to promote independent learning and knowledge sharing within the university community.
The library holds a vast number of books and electronic materials, including textbooks, academic journals, research reports, thesis, and multimedia resources. The KMUTT Library collection holds or offer:
Over 100,000 print volumes covering science, engineering, and technology disciplines.[33]
A vast amount of e-books and e-journal accessible through the libraryâs online catalog.[34]
E-Thesis and E-Project accessible in the official websites, which offer electronic access to student projects.[34]
