MaxSea is a French marine navigation software company, recognized internationally for its line of TIMEZERO or TZ products. MaxSea provides products for recreational, commercial, and professional navigators, as well as fishermen, coast guards, and other maritime authorities.
History
[edit]MaxSea was founded in 1985 in Bayonne, France, by Brice Pryszo.[1]
Since 2004, the company has been part of a technical alliance with the Japanese marine electronics company, Furuno Electric Co.,[2] who retain a 49% ownership stake in the company.[3]
In 2009, MaxSea’s parent group, Signet S.A., acquired the U.S. marine navigation firm Nobeltec from Jeppesen.[4][5] In 2016, MaxSea and Nobeltecs' product lines were consolidated under the brand TIMEZERO.[6]
