Ryft is an American data management startup founded in 2024. The company develops software for managing large-scale enterprise data using open-source technologies such as Apache Iceberg.[1]

History

[edit]

Ryft was founded by Yossi Reitblat, Yuval Yogev, and Guy Gadon, who previously served in Israel’s Unit 8200. The company operates from Tel Aviv and New York City. It operated in stealth mode until 2025.[2]

Its core technology is built around Apache Iceberg, an open-source table format created at Netflix for organizing and querying petabyte-scale datasets.[3] Apache Iceberg separates the storage layer from compute engines, enabling multiple tools such as Apache Spark, Trino or Snowflake to access the same data.[4]

Funding

[edit]

In July 2025, Ryft raised $8 million in seed funding. The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and individual investors from companies such as Wiz and Zscaler.[5][6]

Product

[edit]

Ryft’s software automates tasks related to data table management, governance, and compliance.

It is designed to work with large data sets and integrates with multiple query engines.[7]
