Language of Borneo
Mainstream Kenyah, also known as Usun Apau and Bakung, is a Kenyah dialect cluster of North Kalimantan, Indonesia, and Sarawak, Malaysia. Dialects fall into four clusters:
- Lepoâ Tau, Lepoâ Bem, Umaâ Jalan, Umaâ Tukung[2]
- Lepoâ Ke, Lepoâ Kuda
- Lepoâ Maut, Lepoâ Ndang, Badeng (Madang)[3]
- Bakung, Lepoâ Tepuâ (Lepo Teppuâ).
- Sounds /p, tÌȘ/ can also occur as geminated [pË, tÌȘË] or as unreleased in word-final [pÌ, tÌȘÌ].
- /i/ can also occur as lax [ÉȘ].
- Sounds /a, u/ can also be heard as long [aË, uË].[4]
