On 10 August 2025, it was proposed that this article be moved from Indexed Database API to IndexedDB. The result of the discussion was moved.

Not 'deprecated'

The W3C Working Group Note actually says 'This specification is no longer in active maintenance and the Web Applications Working Group does not intend to maintain it further.'

Maybe splitting hairs, but I believe this is different from deprecation -- and, given the WebSQL/IndexedDB controversies, might be worth changing.

Anyone feel strongly either way?

"Indexed DB" or "IndexedDB"?

Should it be "Indexed DB" or "IndexedDB"? I have seen it written as "IndexedDB", but that may or may not be correct. --Mortense (talk) 17:29, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Indexed Database API → IndexedDB – Per WP:COMMONNAME. The Indexed Database API is usually referred to by its abbreviation, including in MSN Web Docs and the vast majority of scientific papers.
