Template:BLP primary sources

This template is used on approximately 6,000 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

This template is used by the standard installation of AutoWikiBrowser (AWB). If you are planning to make any major changes to this template, move it, or nominate it for deletion, please notify AWB's users and maintainers beforehand at Wikipedia talk:AWB as a courtesy.

Usage

Using this template is similar to using template {{Primary sources}} with param |BLP=yes.

Use

Parameters

There are three named parameters, all optional.

|date= – month name and year; e.g. 'December 2025' (no default)
|find= – search keywords for {{find sources}} param 1 (double-quoted search); default: page title.
|find2= – search keywords for {{find sources}} param 2 (unquoted search); no default. Alias: unquoted.

{{BLP sources}} – for biographies of living persons (BLPs) that need additional references
{{BLP more footnotes needed}} – for BLPs that include a list of sources or external links, but have insufficient inline citations
{{BLP no footnotes}} – for BLPs that include a list of sources or external links, but have no inline citations at all
{{BLP unverified}} – for stubbing inadequately referenced BLPs
{{BLP IMDb refimprove}} – for BLPs that rely primarily or entirely on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) as a source
{{BLP-notice}} – for BLP articles that are being discussed on the BLP noticeboard
{{Like resume}} – for biographical articles that promote the subject
