Alfredo Enrique Vargas-Hirsch (died 6 November 1997) was a Venezuelan diplomat. He served as Venezuela's ambassador to Jamaica for two years until his death in 1997. Alfredo was shot and killed in his apartment in Kingston on 6 November 1997, pronounced dead after arriving at a hospital. Neighbors said they heard an explosion coming from the apartment at about 2:30 a.m. At the time, the police said there were no signs of a break-in and were still investigating a motive for the attack.[1][2]
