Curly apostrophes and captions

[edit]

Thanks for the many good contributions recently! I just want to bring to your attention some stylistic conventions:

  • The house style in Wikipedia uses straight apostrophes and quotation marks instead of curly ones (see WP:APOSTROPHE.)
  • If captions are not complete sentences, but merely sentence fragments, they should not end with a period or full stop (see WP:CAPFRAG)

Self citations

[edit]

Please be mindful of WP:SELFCITE. Some of the articles now rely heavily on your own work, and since that work does not include inline citations, it is difficult to verify. I would like to ask you to cite the sources on which your work is based, in order to distinguish between your own interpretations and those derived from the existing literature. Copyright problem icon One of your recent edits has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information.

The above is a generic template. More specifically, I reverted this edit at Vyborg since the first two paragraphs are direct translations from a source which is likely to be under copyright. The act of direct translation is not enough to avoid plagiarism (see WP:NONENGPLAG). If there are similar issues in your other edits, please fix those issues by rephrasing the content in your own words. Best regards, Jähmefyysikko (talk) 10:57, 16 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
