Question from Jawler Grafftz (09:15, 15 November 2025)
[edit]Hello, I hope you're having a good time, well, I'm trying to find how to set a biography artist in Wikipedia, by the way I have wrote one, but this doesn't appear on ' Google search ' anyway my question would be, how can I set in... Public section or something like that.. --Jawler Grafftz (talk) 09:15, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, @Jawler Grafftz. Only published articles which have gone through editor review are indexed on Google. This does not include user pages. If you would like a biography to be visible on Wikipedia, please submit an article through the Articles for Creation process. Please also note that only biographies of notable artists are accepted on Wikipedia. Chlod (top • contribs) 16:28, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from TheRealVenusian (03:28, 17 November 2025)
[edit]Hi there! I have a newbie question. I'll describe the events that led up to it, to provide some context:
- there's a page I care a lot about, and which I check for updates
- some recent news about the topic came out
- I edited the page to add the news, and cited a page from the website of the organization responsible
- more experienced user modifies my edits, replacing my source with a third-party source
What's going on here? Do we *not* want to use primary sources when citing? Or is there a rule where organizational websites can introduce undue bias, so third-party sources are more encouraged?
Is this OK to be shared here, or should I talk to the more experienced user directly? I'd welcome your insight on this issue. Thank you! --TheRealVenusian (talk) 03:28, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, @TheRealVenusian! You're right about that one; Wikipedia is a tertiary source, and we prioritize secondary sources over the use of primary ones. Primary sources are usually accepted for basic statements of facts, though not any much more than that, such as info that requires interpretation. This helps ensures that our sources are independent of the subject, which can help reduce bias or undue weight for specific views on Wikipedia. Wikipedia:No original research § Primary, secondary and tertiary sources has more information about this, if you'd like to read into specifics. Chlod (top • contribs) 16:42, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

| Thank you for working on the Typhoon Fung-wong (2025) article. I was careless when I added the reviewing notice before I was about to go online, and otherwise, you were crucial for writing the article when the typhoon was still ongoing. Thank you! 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 22:48, 22 November 2025 (UTC) |

Question from BU2 Seabees (20:42, 3 December 2025)
[edit]I’ve had a couple edits removed. This is the message: Hello, I'm FantasticWikiUser. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Camp No have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. FantasticWikiUser (talk) 18:55, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

⑦ Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Camp seven (Guantanamo). There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 19:19, 3 December 2025 (UTC) --BU2 Seabees (talk) 20:42, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, @BU2 Seabees! Really sorry for the late reply. Wikipedia uses a Manual of Style to ensure that all edits follow a specific format that the wiki uses. Looking at the edit, it seems to be unrelated to the manual of style, however it did lack the appropriate reliable sources for inclusion on Wikipedia. Please ensure that all statements added to Wikipedia have sources, to avoid having those edits reverted. Chlod (top • contribs) 13:53, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
