Citation dates

[edit]

Hi, I noticed on Hop Fastpass that you changed the dates from being the ISO standard to being the American style and using words. It looks like {{cite news}} says that YYYY-MM-DD should be used(but that may just be the way I'm interpreting it, it's not super clear). Is there a reason you formatted them the way you did, or can I change them back? Thanks.–DMartin 22:34, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Dmartin969: Per MOS:DATERET, the existing date format used in the majority of the article should be retained, even in citations. ProveIt also messes with the order of parameters (against the guidance of cite news) and deleted a completely valid {{dead link}} tag in a citation. I recommend not using that tool on articles that really don't need it. SounderBruce 23:49, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

DYK for 2025 U.S. Open Cup final

[edit]

On 22 November 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2025 U.S. Open Cup final, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the 110th U.S. Open Cup final was the first in the tournament's history to have an all-women team of referees? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2025 U.S. Open Cup final. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2025 U.S. Open Cup final), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Hello. I just wanted to say thank you for helping with the Coachella Valley Firebirds GA review a while ago when I wasn’t able to do it. I just wanted to say I really appreciate it, and I will get back to editing soon. XR228 (talk) 22:53, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@XR228: No problem. I would have hated to see your hard work go unrecognized, and I am glad you are back to editing. SounderBruce 08:07, 28 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
