ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:32, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
Kingdom of Kongo Edits
[edit]Hello!
I came across the revisions you had made to my edits on the Kingdom of Kongo page. Just thought I would further explain why I had made those edits.
The main reason I had made the edits on the "Contact with Portugal and Christianization" section of the article was because I found that Nzinga a Nkuwu's abandoning of Catholicism and re-adoption of local religious customs was not fully explained. When reading Toby Green's work, I found that the reason for Nzinga a Nkuwu's non-adherence to Catholicism in the later phase of his life was because it risked undermining the kanda system which rested on polygamy (whilst Catholicism prescribed strict monogamy). The other edits I made were to make this point fit into the existing contents of the section.
I had consulted my mentor (Matrix), regarding this, and they suggested that I revert the edit and that I leave a message on your talk page to understand why you had reverted the edits. VNK28 (talk) 14:01, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- Good day! Looking back at the revert in question I can only conclude that it must have been accidental. There is nothing wrong with your initial edits and I appreciate your WP:GF, friendliness, and efforts to clear the air; this is a fine example of how to approach a disagreement on Wikipedia. Your mentor should be proud. Cheers! Nomadgeek (T/C\D) 14:46, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
Recommended edits to apply for rollback rights
[edit]Dear, Nomadgeek I have be wanting to help stop vandalism in Wikipedia and I was thinking about applying for rollback rights how many edits you would recommend I have be for I apply and if you have any other tips. Thank you for your time. Very high frequency (talk) 23:47, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! I would wait until you have ~300 or so edits in mainspace before you apply for RB. Check out WP:ROLL#Requesting rollback rights for some guidance. There’s nothing set in stone, mostly a vibe-check by whichever admins handle your request. Thanks for helping keep WP healthy! Cheers! Nomadgeek (T/C\D) 23:52, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Hi, Nomad. Could you explain how the edits you warned this TA for making are vandalism? [1] GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 10:58, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- Honestly, the Macos version of WP:HUGGLE is starting to drive me nuts. It multi-clicks and crashes *a lot*. It gave me a lot of trouble on the 21st in particular. I’ve hiked the ‘avoid multiple clicks’ setting up quite a bit as of yesterday. We will see if that improves the situation. Thanks for finding my f*ckups.
