Question from Zwyrzykowski (17:31, 7 November 2025)
[edit]Hello! I've recently submitted an edit, but I have a feeling the format was incorrect. How would I indicate that a piece of information is missing a citation, and one cannot be found?
I discovered that on the page for the Battle of Austerlitz, there is an alleged quote from Napoleon that has no source, and I have been unable to find any source for said quote. --Zwyrzykowski (talk) 17:31, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Zwyrzykowski, welcome to Wikipedia! The tag you might be looking for is {{Citation needed}}, but it looks like you've already succeeded in finding it since :)
- You can read more about that template and when to use it here: Wikipedia:Citation needed. randomdude121 09:14, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from Topperchencat (23:09, 10 November 2025)
[edit]Hello! I'm an older lady who's lived in seven countries on three continents. I don't know that I'm qualified to edit, but I have seen a lot of history. If anything I've learned could be of help ...? This is the first time I've felt the need to butt in, as it were. So, hello! --Topperchencat (talk) 23:09, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Topperchencat, welcome to Wikipedia. I think every veteran/"qualified" editor you see here was once probably a beginner here :)
- Anyways, since you're new, I'd recommend The Wikipedia Adventure, a short game to help you understand the basics of editing, and then something like SuggestBot to help you find articles you'd probably like to edit.
- If you have other questions, kindly reply back. Thank you. randomdude121 15:40, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from Ronald E Partch Jr on Jacob Beser (22:43, 20 November 2025)
[edit]Hello. I added an external reading on Jacob Beser. Does it look correct? Ronald Partch --Ronald E Partch Jr (talk) 22:43, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm not sure which addition you're talking about, because your contributions page does not list any edits related to that page. May you clarify? randomdude121 05:32, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from Gauravdeep13 (09:07, 21 November 2025)
[edit]Hello, How Can I add a page about a politician who is currently active? --Gauravdeep13 (talk) 09:07, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there! You cannot add a page about someone unless they are considered "notable". For more information on that, please see Wikipedia:Notability.
- If it's determined that the politician is notable, Help:Your first article would be a good resource to refer to! randomdude121 14:31, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from Dakotajayh (02:46, 22 November 2025)
[edit]Hello, I am wondering why I can not add information to my Wikipedia page. Thank you for your time in this matter. --Dakotajayh (talk) 02:46, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Dakotajayh, welcome to Wikipedia.
- I'm assuming you were referring to this edit? It looks like Joyous! has already answered you here, that according to Wikipedia's Verifiability policy (see here), the information added requires a reliable source (see here).
- Thanks for your enthusiasm to edit! randomdude121 08:59, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from DoobieRalsei1997 (17:01, 24 November 2025)
[edit]how do I change visited links to a custom colour? --DoobieRalsei1997 (talk) 17:01, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @DoobieRalsei1997, thanks for reaching out!
- You can add the line
.mw-body-content a:link:visited {color: #00FF00;}in your "common.css" page (replace "#00FF00" with the color code of whatever color you wantâcodes for a few popular ones are present here) to make the changes by utilising CSS. Note that the changes will only show up for you. - Help:Link color could be a popular resource to refer to otherwise! randomdude121 13:13, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from Alexworldbuilding (22:28, 28 November 2025)
[edit]Hello. Just tryin to set up my first Wikipage. I have created a sandbox. The article is not complete yet but I've published for my fellow reachers to view and edit. How do I publish for real when we consider the article ready to go? (we have a lot of citations and links to add, which I know is essential) --Alexworldbuilding (talk) 22:28, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Alexworldbuilding! I see you might be referring to User:Alexworldbuilding/sandbox? If so, just let me know what title you want, and I can move it to the "draft" namespace for you (
a special area of Wikipedia dedicated to creating new articles, and is a good choice because other editors can find your draft here and help out
), from where you can utilise the Articles for Creation process to request review from an experienced editor. If it passes, it'll mostly likely be fully published i.e. moved to the "main" space :) - Before proceeding with getting the article into draft space, could you also let me know if you have a Conflict of Interest with the subject of the article? (see WP:COI) randomdude121 11:06, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your rapid response! Yes, I am referring to User:Alexworldbuilding/sandbox. Although the subject is a research and teaching project called JUNK, I suspect that name may get lost. I'm thinking suggesting "World building Junk", or "Planet JUNK" as wikipage title. I do not think there is COI. I am one of the teachers and originator of the JUNK program, but this article is speaking exclusively about the program, students, and its 'consortium' contributors, and is planned to be co-edited by many of these contributors. Thanks! Alexworldbuilding (talk) 17:04, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- Let's go for Planet JUNK Alexworldbuilding (talk) 17:05, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
