Information icon Hello, I'm Archer1234. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Rajinikanth filmography, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Per WP:FILMOGRAPHY, we do not add future film projects until filming has begun as verified by a reliable source.

 — Archer1234 (t·c) 13:00, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rajinikanth's 171th film is Coolie. I added it on basis of the title teaser which was released yesterday. If the filming hasn't begun then I think it is fine that is removed. Part-Timer789 (talk) 06:26, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your contributions to article List of highest-grossing South Indian films did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Sacnilk source or any news media using Sacnilk source and the claims made by the film's own production company are unreliable. Source needs to be secondary independent. RangersRus (talk) 14:11, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These sources have also been in highest grossing Indian films and highest grossing Telugu films wikipedia pages which I have added here. Why are the rules different here? Part-Timer789 (talk) 14:21, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Rules are not different. The indian express source with claims from production companies were removed from the film's main page and the list of highest gross indian films. Not everyone is familiar with secondary independent sources and can make mistakes. Please use secondary independent sources like the one on the film's main page. Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at List of highest-grossing horror films. Belbury (talk) 13:00, 29 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

[edit]

Hello. Several times in the last couple of days I've had to move citations after you've edited pages and left them in the wrong place. For instance just now on the Wimbledon men's singles final page you left the citation for last year's final at the end of the sentence you wrote with this year's result. When editing articles please move existing citations to appropriate places and ideally also add new citations for the content you are adding. Best wishes. Shrug02 (talk) 19:07, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I was unaware of placing citations in appropriate places. Thanks for reminding me of same. Retired77777777777777 (talk) 19:08, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Newwz and Taare Zameen Par franchise

[edit]

Hi Retired77777777777777, I posted the below para in of the highest grossing Indian films article. Could please edit it? Read the following para Aryanverma2077 (talk) 14:05, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Which para? Could specify the article. Retired77777777777777 (talk) 17:52, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
this one i thought I copied it
With the estimate gross of 434 Cr of Newwz(Good Newwz and Bad Newwz) franchise and 364 Cr of Taare Zameen Par franchise, it should be in the list.(Both in top 25). Also currently there are 29 franchises in the list instead we should have 25 franchises, to keep it like the other similar articles. Aryanverma2077 (talk) 18:20, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There aren not part of any franchises. Both Bad Newwz and Sitaare Zameen Par are spiritually sequels to Good Newwz and TZP and not actual sequels. They cannot be considered as franchises. Retired77777777777777 (talk) 08:32, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
so by the same way we could say this about OMG, Baaghi, Housefull, Golmaal. All of them are anthology film series or franchise. Even like half of the film series of India are just fill with anthalogies. Aryanverma2077 (talk) 08:52, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Changing numbers and statistics with zero reasons in edit summary

[edit]

I have noticed that you have been changing statistics on large numbers of articles without any reasons given in edit summaries or any sources. It certainly looks like you are just vandalizing articles. You need to start providing edit summaries that explain any such changes or the assumption will be that your account is only being used for vandalism Mfield (Oi!) 05:33, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Once more, you need to start leaving edit summaries for every edit you make, you are continuing to make large numbers of changes with no explanation. All you need to do is say "Updating totals from xyx" If you continue to do so you will be blocked from editing as it leaves other editors with no idea what is happening. Mfield (Oi!) 06:23, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why is that necessary? A lot of edits are made without edit summaries. Retired77777777777777 (talk) 09:04, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
See Help:Edit_summary, the opening paragraph "According to the policy on consensus, all edits should be explained (unless the reason for them is obvious)—either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page. It is a good practice to provide a meaningful summary for every edit, especially when reverting (undoing) the actions of other editors or deleting existing text; otherwise, people may question your motives for the edit. In appropriate circumstances, a summary can be quite brief" Mfield (Oi!) 16:12, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm chiming in with Mfield. You've been asked before to provide explanations for your edits--never mind reliable secondary sources. It is not hard to do. Drmies (talk) 16:14, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is not hard for me to add edit summary when I using PC. But it is when I am using mobile. Retired77777777777777 (talk) 17:56, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's not the point, and it's not hard on mobile either. I do it all the time. Drmies (talk) 20:06, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The history of this article you have edited extensively is a great example... https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_highest-grossing_fantasy_films&action=history Looking at that page history it is incredibly difficult to follow what was changed, when and why, especially this is the case if you are changing statistics without referencing where the updated information has come from. Now take another page history at random [1] and you can see what it should look like. Mfield (Oi!) 16:29, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Apart from box office update (daily or weekly), I don't much changes highest grossing film articles. Even if I do like adding new movies I mention it in edit summary. Now I am adding edit summaries for box office update as well. Retired77777777777777 (talk) 17:53, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
