Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request a technical move below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

• Please make sure you really need technical assistance before making a request here. In particular, if the target page is a redirect back to the source page that has only one revision, you can usually move the page normally.
• To list a technical request: the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

• To request a reversion of a recent undiscussed move: Review the guidelines at WP:RMUM of whether a reversion of an undiscussed move qualifies as uncontroversial and if so, the Requests to revert undiscussed moves subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

Note that in some cases, clerks, such as administrators or page movers may determine that your request for a reversion does not pass the criteria and may move the request to the contested section or open a formal requested move discussion for potentially controversial moves on your behalf.
• If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
• If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page. A bot will automatically remove contested requests after 72 hours of inactivity.

• Scelba (disambiguation) → ScelbaScelba (currently a redirect instead to Mario Scelba) (move · discuss) – The only alternative in the present situation would be to leave the current redirect and remove the dab page, which only lists three topics of which just one unrelated to Mario Scelba.   @IvanScrooge98 As this is a case of either one other or no primary topic as you suggested, I think it's best taken to WP:RM. I otherwise moved Mercedes Scelba-Shorte to see also as partial dab and adding a hat to Mario Scelba for the incoming redirect.[1][2]. Personally I can see how Scelba would refer to either the individual or the cabinet, however the balance of views and therefore primary topic heavily favours the individual (ie current target), if common name supports that which is not entirely clear.[3] And if so then the dab be tagged as {{One other}} and eventually deleted if no other entries are included.   I guess I will request a deletion then. “Scelba” as a surname can only refer to either of two individuals, while in “Scelba government” it is an attribute that cannot stand alone and can be found directly at the Mario Scelba article. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 11:36, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

  I still think Scelba-Shorte is only a partial match, wasn't born as Scelba either, so don't see how this fits into WP:NAMELIST as reasonably well known by it. Anyway per deletion of dab (if that's what you mean), it'd need to go to WP:AFD as not eligble for WP:G14 for reference sake. CNC (talk) 11:46, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

  @Chorchapu WP:AFDEQ applies here, the bit about not confusing or annoying other editors by moving the page (especially when it's not a high priority imo). As the move is correct per MOS, no objections to another editor fulfilling the request. I'm merely contesting as there is reasonable reasoning and not much to gain by completing the request.
