Most of these programs for Mozilla Firefox should also work for the Mozilla and SeaMonkey browser series.
- Distracted Reader – Select any text on a webpage to search, read articles right next to it, explore related topics. Fast, versatile, minimal context-switching.
- wikEd, a full-featured in-browser text editor that adds enhanced text processing functions to Wikipedia and other MediaWiki edit pages. Features include wikicode syntax highlighting, regular expression search and replace, and MS Word / HTML to wikicode conversion.
- FoxClocks – the FoxClocks extension allows you to have one or more customized clocks displayed in the status bar or toolbar of the Firefox browser. Helpful to have one set to UTC/Wikipedia time, and/or to the time zone of frequent collaborators.
- Greasemonkey

- Picture Popups – enlarge images in place, or open them in HTML popups inside the page – no new windows opened.
- Link Complete auto-complete links to articles in the edit box by pressing tab or ctrl-space.
- Citation and bibliography:
- Wikipedia:Cite4Wiki – an extension by Jehochman et al. that generates cite format citations for whatever is page currently being viewed.
- Zotero – a reference and bibliography extension. Can generate citations in many different formats, including Wikipedia's own cite templates.
- wikipedia-reference-creator – Firefox Addon that helps to generate references from Google Books and similar websites with customizeable output
- QWiki-Cite — web extension to instantly generate a {{citation}} template for any webpage.
- Search enhancements:
- Auto Complete – Adds an auto-complete dropdown to the search input in the navigation bar on the left.
- Highlight searching
- Search Box - Search and replace in the editbox. Supports regular expressions.
- Search within Textarea Extension with regex
- Search across multiple languages/For multilingual searching, see the LuMriX Firefox Search Plugin and Wikipedia:Search#LuMriX.
- Wiki Quicksearchers - You will need to import this file into your bookmarks file. By Sceptre.
- URL shortcut – allows typing of "wp" followed by the Wikipedia page name to load that page. If the page doesn't exist, a search is performed.
- WikiDiff – Firefox only extension for tracking and rendering diffs of Wikipedia articles. Essentially like taking a highlighter and marking what is new since your last visit. A diff format easy for newbies. Allows you to watch pages you have visited but never originally intended to watch.
