CMB.TECH is a maritime group that owns and operates more than 160 ocean-going vessels: crude oil tankers, dry bulk carriers, container vessels, chemical tankers, offshore wind vessels and tugboats [1] and ferry’s.

The group focuses on large marine and industrial applications powered by hydrogen or ammonia. The company also offers hydrogen and ammonia[2] fuel to customers, through their own production of through third-party producers.

The group is divided into three divisions: marine, H2 Infra and H2 Industry.

Marine: The marine division operates a fleet of crude oil tankers, dry bulk carriers, container vessels, chemical tankers, offshore wind vessels, tugboats and ferries with a focus on using hydrogen and ammonia to reduce emissions[3]. The marine division consists of six brands: Euronav, Bocimar, Delphis, Bochem, Windcat, Tugboats & Ferries.

H2 Infra: The H2 Infra division focuses on the development and supply of green hydrogen and ammonia[4]. The group integrates and manages key technology and infrastructure for the production and distribution of green hydrogen and ammonia.

H2 Industry: The H2 Industry division develops, tests and markets monofuel and dual fuel hydrogen and ammonia combustion engines for various industries, such as shipping, trucks, ports, mining, railways and power generation. This technology focuses on hydrogen combustion technology, hydrogen storage and hydrogen/ammonia implementation. The knowledge and experience have been accumulated through more than 15 years of design, testing and work. CMB.TECH develops and scales up this solution in cooperation with leading OEMs and port operators. By doing so, they help them reduce CO2 emissions and scale up the use of clean fuels in ports.

CMB.TECH is listed on Euronext Brussels[5] and the New York Stock Exchange[6] under the ticker symbol CMBT.

History

On 22 December 2023, Euronav (now CMB.TECH) announced its intention to buy CMB’s subsidiary CMB.TECH[7]. On 7 December 2023, this sale was approved at the Special General Meeting. On 8 February 2024, the sale was completed.[8][9]

On 2 July 2024, Euronav held a Special General Meeting and Extraordinary General Meeting to vote on changing the Group’s name from Euronav to CMB.TECH. This resolution was approved.[10] [11]

On 15 July 2024, the Group changed the ticker symbol from EURN to CMBT.

On 1 October 2024, the company name changed from Euronav to CMB.TECH.[12] [13] [14]
