I have added a paragraph detailing the German Army's requirement for the new Leopard 2AX upgrade (informally referred to as "Leopard 3"). This tank is explicitly developed as an interim solution to bridge the gap until the MGCS enters service (c. 2040s) and serves as a strategic "Plan B" in case of major project delays or failure. Since the Leopard 3 / 2AX development directly impacts the status and timeline of the joint Franco-German MGCS project, I believe this information is relevant to the MGCS article. The data, including the 25-year service life and the 1,000-tank total requirement (mix of 2A8/L3/MGCS), is sourced from recent defense industry reports (Army Recognition, The War Zone, Hartpunkt). I welcome any discussion regarding the placement or nomenclature.Lehrling18 (talk) 21:03, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
