  • ... that during the Yi Peng festival (pictured), releasing a sky lantern is a traditional offering to the Cūḷāmaṇi Cetiya, which is believed to enshrine a relic of the Buddha? Source: Thailanders, The. The Thailanders issue 9 (in Thai). Favori Media International Co., Ltd. p. 47.

  • Lovely and fascinating article with an excellent and evocative image (suitably licensed and attractive even in small format); highly recommend for promoters to place this in an image slot. Article is new enough and long enough; copyvio free. No QPQ required. The first hook does not work as the source doesn't include the details in the second half about the heavenly stupa, but ALT1 is good to go. Dclemens1971 (talk) 03:22, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
@Dclemens1971: Thank you very much for your kind comment and review. For ALT0, I have a strong source to support that fact (see: [1]). However, I agree to promote ALT1 as you suggested, along with the photo (note for the DYK promoter). ManoiCMU (talk) 15:13, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
@ManoiCMU: Can you provide a translation of the relevant passage? The machine-translation tools I have don't work for with Thai. Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:17, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
yes sure...here it is: "...ความเชื่อ การปล่อยโคมเพื่อบูชาพระเกศแก้วจุฬามณี เป็นความเชื่อของผู้คนที่จะทำทุกวิธีทางเพื่อให้สามารถกราบไหว้พระเกศแก้วจุฬามณีที่อยู่บนสวรรค์ได้..." [“...The belief in releasing sky lanterns as an offering to the Cūḷāmaṇi Cetiya, which enshrines the Buddha’s hair relic, reflects people’s faith and their desire to find any possible way to pay homage to the sacred relic residing in heaven...”]. Thank you, giving a to ALT0 as well. I tweaked it slightly. Dclemens1971 (talk) 18:15, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
