About Me
[edit]Hello, I'm Cliff, but I usually go by my internet handle of Feesh, I live in Western Oregon in the southern Willamette Valley. I have been disabled since my mid-20's due being diagnosed with Juvenile idiopathic arthritis at the age of 16, and as of age 40 have undergone at least 15 surgeries (have honestly lost count after having a total knee replacement at 25). As such disability rights is something very important to me. My nickname of "Feesh" was given to me in my childhood by my friends when we had LAN gaming parties (back in the days before broadband), the name originates from the "Find the Fish" sketch in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, while playing games like Total Annihilation, StarCraft, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, WarCraft III and Unreal Tournament my friend Brett would stalk the map trying to find me saying "A Feesh, a Feesh, a Feesh...where is the Feesh?". I obviously enjoy computer gaming, as well as computer building. I also enjoy and study science a lot, especially astronomy, astrophysics, chemistry and physics. I am also a major Star Trek and Star Wars fan. On the other end of the hobby spectrum I also enjoy hunting, target shooting, gunsmithing, gun building, and being in the outdoors and mountains whenever I can, although my health and the limited budget of being on disability makes that more and more difficult. I also enjoy studying the law and the criminal justice system, especially as it pertains to criminal law, and legal issues dealing with the Second Amendment. I also enjoy studying military history and the military in general, as a number of my family members have been in the military, I especially enjoy studying the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps, as my father's first cousin (whom I was named after) was a Scout Sniper in the Vietnam War, and my grandfather was in the Navy for 30 years, serving during World War II, Korea , and Vietnam, and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer; had my health allowed I would have followed in my grandfather's footsteps, or went into law enforcement. Because of my health issues I have had to study and learn a lot about medical science, especially autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and pharmacology.
Wikipedia Interests
[edit]While I have had a Wikipedia account since 2005, it's really only been in the last 2-3 years that I've really started getting into editing. Although I haven't created any whole pages yet, I occasionally add information and updates to pages on topics that interest me. I mainly enjoy combing through pages dealing with guns, history, medical science, medications, the military, science and other topics of interest to me, and editing pages that have requests for citations to be added, and cleaning them up when needed. Any tips from people more experienced at editing than me are always appreciated, including on how to make my personal page look a little better. Been a confirmed Wikipedia editor for almost 20 years, but only just now thought to create my own user page.
