Rober 'Mike' Crosley (24 February 1920 – 20 June 2010) was a British flying ace of the Royal Navy (RN) during the Second World War. He was credited with five aerial victories.
Early life
[edit]Robert Michael Crosley, known as Mike, was born on 24 February 1920.[1]
Second World War
[edit]In May 1943, Crosley was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for "bravery and distinguished services during the operations which led to the landing of the Allied Armies in North Africa".[2]
In August 1945 his "determination and address in air attacks on targets in Japan" was recognised with a Bar to his DSC.[3]
Postwar service
[edit]He received the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Services in the Air in the 1955 New Year Honours.[4]
He retired from the RN in February 1970.[5]
