Bean GAN

[edit]

Hi, this GAN has been running for quite a few weeks now, and it's moving very slowly. One week is the typical expected duration. I'll be away from my desk from the 17th so it'd be nice to get it closed out before then. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:28, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Destubathon runs until the 16th of July

[edit]

Hi, just a courtesy message to notify you in case you haven't seen the Wikipedia:The World Destubathon contest update in the last few days that we've decided to run the full month until the 16th of July. For those who have been too busy to contribute, we would love some help in reaching 4000 articles by Wednesday night! At present we're about 480 articles short!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:35, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Marmalade FAC

[edit]

My apologies for being so harsh in the review. Looking on the bright side, it's actually better to get it over with quickly than to have a review drag on for months. My recommendation would be to put this on a shelf for a couple of months, at which point you will be eligible for a WP:TWL account which will give you access to a vast array of additional research tools that will help you improve the article. Once you've done that, bring it to WP:Peer review for another look, and in particular make sure to link it into {{FAC peer review sidebar}} so it'll get special attention from people who are used to doing FAC reviews and will be able to give you better feedback. RoySmith (talk) 12:38, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'll see what I can do until then, Floating Orb Talk! my edits 16:34, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Avoid Research Gate

[edit]

Research Gate citations fail and flag red (bad ref) on a WP:RS-detector I use. Better to search the title for a) PubMed from which you can derive a PMID or PMC value to use in the citation (PMC is a full article function), or b) the URL of the original publisher, such as this source for the Liu ref in the marmalade article. Good luck! Zefr (talk) 18:59, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, okay! Thanks for letting me know, Floating Orb Talk! my edits 19:00, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at a recent change in Shopping centers and found at least one error there. J.W. Marriott as the title of the referenced article does not have the form J.W._Marriott. No Wikipedia articles have that form as a title. The form causes a error. The problem may be in the script you used, but all changes should be checked for correctness.

I can not make the correction myself since that would accept your entire edit (I am a pending changes reviewer). Please check the full edit for correctness.

By the way, your red popup is a bit ambiguous and/or does not cover all cases (I think). Unless you are experiencing user talk page unpleasantness, perhaps you could ditch that admonition. Your user talk page would be so much more welcoming. (my post is neither a complaint nor a question; just a heads up)

If you should ever want any help that I am competent to provide, please ask! — Neonorange (talk to Phil) (he, they) 04:21, 1 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Was there a reason to ping me there? 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 03:14, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't a reason. Just that User:Highland spring2 keeps making seemingly disruptive to articles and I had to revert it too, Floating Orb Talk! my edits 03:20, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, twinkle functions like rollback, and allows you to warn users. I would recommend getting it, especially since I'm not sure your rollback request here will be accepted at this time.
I'm mostly of the opinion that rollback isn't too terribly useful. Twinkle and other anti vandalism tools like Ultraviolet and Redwarn accomplish the same thing. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 03:27, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Floating Orb,

I based the distribution of the image and logo on similar articles such as Colgate Raiders men's ice hockey and 1954 Missouri Tigers baseball team. What is different about this article that makes it unacceptable, apart from the unsubstantiated list of members? Sarge Graham (talk) 09:16, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I added it back. Floating Orb Talk! my edits 20:32, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pasco eSchool on Reward Board

[edit]

Hi! I saw your request on the Reward Board and was wondering if I could move ahead with editing it--- if you have any preferences, please let me know. Magnesium Cube (talk) 21:37, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, @Magnesium Cube! You can start editing. I was thinking that you could improve the page ("by adding information, changing wording, prose quality fixes etc.") to surpass me in overall edit amount (or at least even it out a little). You can see that on the xtools.wmcloud.org page (I have 91.5% edits). Actually, the xtool is good for any article (if you haven't heard of it yet). About editing preferences, I'm thinking expanding the article would be good. Thank you! Floating Orb Talk! my edits 21:43, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Of course! (And Xtools is used regularly by me, hehehe). I'll start editing. Magnesium Cube (talk) 21:46, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Floating Orb Thanks! Not done, of course. I'll add any more information I can find. Magnesium Cube (talk) 02:42, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Magnesium Cube, you have made some great edits to the Pasco eSchool page (the wording is a lot better). What are you planning to do next? Floating Orb Talk! my edits 02:42, 5 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. I have reverted your edit to Qadri Shattari.
