Was draftified with a very thin consensus three weeks ago. One commented that the article wasn't notable whereas its the person who has to be notable. I have moved the article back into the main space and added lots of refs that were readily available (e.g. on de:wiki) to confirm the notability. Maybe a re-posting could have been considered? Victuallers (talk) 13:47, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

@Victuallers: Hello, consensus was clear there, with a quorum of three participants advocating against keeping the article in mainspace at that time, so re-listing wouldn't have been prudent, especially since AfD participation has been low as of late. The way you restored it and added several sources is what the community encourages with this sort of AfD result; this is the draftification process working as intended. Thank you for rescuing this article. Left guide (talk) 15:36, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

Re: contentious topics

Thank you for the heads-up re: Israel-Palestinian conflict. I am one of Wikipedia’s 10,000 most active editors of all time in my first decade of editing but since 2015 I have only edited the encyclopedia in an IP-anonymous state. Please help me with this nom. Thank you 85.131.184.138 (talk) 07:06, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I do not know why I am being notified of this since I had no involvement in that situation. I believe you intended to notify @The Kip: (courtesy ping) who made this arbitration enforcement action. You may attempt to briefly ask them to consider self-reverting and filing a procedural nomination on your behalf, but it's entirely up to them; if they decline I'm afraid you're out of luck, since IP addresses don't have standing in ARBPIA (Arab-Israeli conflict) and aren't really supposed to be engaging in discussion for this topic area. If you have an account that's extended-confirmed and not blocked or under other relevant sanctions, you can log in and make the nomination yourself. Left guide (talk) 07:18, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Already done. Thanks again for your help. 85.131.184.138 (talk) 07:43, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Welcome to New Pages Patrol

Hi Left guide, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! asilvering (talk) 16:10, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

@Asilvering: Thank you! Left guide (talk) 16:26, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
Fully support this! @Left guide does great work at AfD! Knowledgeable in discussions and when closing them. They've also provided me with some really helpful advice and direction! Congratulations! 11WB (talk) 12:46, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you! Ironically, it looks like you just secured this same user right too, so congratulations to you as well! Left guide (talk) 18:06, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
@11wallisb: Forgot to ping. Left guide (talk) 19:17, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
Thanks! I had a trial run in September for the backlog drive, was an excellent opportunity for gaining some hands-on experience! 11WB (talk) 19:28, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

The redirect Elisha Taylor Baker has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Anyone, including you, is welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 October 12 § Elisha Taylor Baker until a consensus is reached. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 17:30, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

This concerns this edit Special:Diff/1243056949; sorry if you'd prefer that I just undid your bold redirect, but I've seen too many NPRs accuse people who undo (imo) nonsensical redirects/tags as being disruptive or promotional that I just take these to RfD automatically. Also, I get this was a while ago and you were probably cleaning up the old Greg Henderson articles (and this seemed easier than AfD?), but as a reader of Wikipedia, redirects like this always confused me before I figured out how to access their page history; it's not intuitive, it's just frustrating. At least if the page is a redlink I get told that Wikipedia doesn't have an article on the subject, you know? GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 17:46, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
I left a comment at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 October 12#Elisha Taylor Baker. I think this should go to AfD, he's not notable per GNG nor NARTIST, sources consist of 2 databases and 2 connected non-independent sources. Netherzone (talk) 17:57, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Also wanted to say that a better redirect target is Centennial (pilot boat) than Marine art, where he is not mentioned at all. Netherzone (talk) 18:54, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Oh, disagree! There's no information in that article about him, the sources don't discuss him in the context of that painting at all, and my reader self would still be much more frustrated by the Wikipedia software hard-sending me to that page than I would by it giving me the search results. I admit I don't quite get all of RfD's insider baseball rules (where the plausible typo deletion criteria is called "implausible typos"?), but I can't see an AfD agreeing to preserve an article some participants view as promo garbage solely because the page creator added an picture taken/drawn by the entity to a different article. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 19:43, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Just trying to offer an alternative as a helpful suggestion (maybe not so helpful? :). I am fine with whatever happens to this article. I'm exhausted from what was a massive clean up and not am really interested in spending my time jumping back in. Please do as the community wishes. Netherzone (talk) 20:04, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
@GreenLipstickLesbian: Hi, thank you for the editorial courtesy extended and the additional explanation. Yes, this was part of a cleanup spree of that user's article creations I did quite a while ago that I don't have much interest in being involved in these days. In hindsight, it's not an excellent redirect target. Since you and Netherzone are both in agreement to restore and send to AfD (which is also an option I am open to), I am going to speedy procedurally close the RfD to do that. I really don't have much of an opinion on the exact fate of this page, other than I'm doubtful it meets notability guidelines for a standalone article. Regards, Left guide (talk) 05:31, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

RfD relisting

Hello Left, thanks for your work at RfD. When relisting, check if the nomination was previously discussed. If so list them, such as WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 October 12#MAHA which I have just done. Jay 💬 17:33, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

@Jay: You're welcome, and thanks for the advice, I'll remember to do this in future RfD relists. I may also check my recent relists among active ones for this if I have extra time. Left guide (talk) 17:50, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

DYK for Berenice Olmedo

On 9 November 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Berenice Olmedo, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Berenice Olmedo once sold products made from dog carcasses at a flea market? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Berenice Olmedo. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Berenice Olmedo), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.
