Reverted draftification: Étienne Juillard
[edit]Hi there, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I wanted to let you know that I've reverted your recent draftification of Étienne Juillard. Hi - I want to edit a company page to include more up to date information. What should I be aware of, and what kind of sources should / can I quote? Thank you for your help! --Fenryr85 (talk) 15:28, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Fenryr85! You should try and use sources that are not tied to the company. Question from Jinu Dynamics on Ezhamkulam (21:04, 12 October 2025)
[edit]Ambalathinal Panicker Tharavadu and Kodungalloor Devi Presence in Paracode, Adoor, Pathanamthitta District The Ambalathinal Tharavadu situated in Paracode, Adoor, were major landowners. Similarly, their ancestors were owners of Kalari (martial arts school), Kavu (sacred grove), and vast agricultural lands. There is a story behind this. The Golden Hoe and Ambalathinal Valiya Panicker Once, the Arukalikkal Raja (King) was on his way to bathe in the pond when he saw over a hundred people working in the agricultural fields belonging to Ambalathinal. The King, feeling that this man was a greater authority than himself, ordered his entourage to seize the farming tools from the workers. Then he continued his journey. The King's arrival and his entourage confiscating their farming tools were reported to the Valiya Karanavar (Elder Head) of the Ambalathinal Tharavadu. The fierce and quick-tempered Karanavar immediately went to the room in his possession, took all the working tools, including a Golden Hoe that had been preserved by his ancestors. The Karanavar then walked straight to the field with his entourage and workers. With a spirit of "Go on... you work, let's see what happens," the Karanavar stood there with the Golden Hoe. The King, returning, saw the Karanavar, his entourage, and the workers back in the field with the Golden Hoe. Seeing this, the King said, "Ambalathinal Panickare, even if the mother draws blood, you will not die." This illustrates the glory and wealth of that Tharavadu. Ambalathinal Tharavadu Kavu (Sacred Groves) The Tharavadu has three sacred groves (Kavus). They are Naga Kavus (Serpent Groves), where the deities are Nagam (Serpent), Nagayakshi Amma, Nagaraja (Serpent King), and Yogiswaran (ancestral worship deity). (Serpent worship and ancestor worship have been prevalent practices then and now). Another thing to mention is a rare room within the Tharavadu, where it is believed the Kodungalloor Devi's divine presence arrived. I saw you are working on a draft on SS Kassandra Louloudis in your sandbox. Since she was built as a War-class oil freighter, you will have a better time finding information about her development when searching for the emergency British shipbuilding efforts in World War I.
Also, may I friend you on Discord? If not, I completely understand. GGOTCC 17:27, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

how can i add sources to a infobox statement? --Isco1813 (talk) 23:42, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Isco1813! You'll have to use source editor in infoboxes, which is the other way to edit Wikipedia - it's a bit like code. Here is a link that shows you how to format sources! As an example:
- Jeff owned two cows in 1900.[1]
- ^ A History of Jeff and his Cows, Fictional Publishing, Listenborg, 2002, p. 35
- The wikimarkup for the citation would be: <ref>''A History of Jeff and his Cows'', Fictional Publishing, Listenborg, 2002, p. 35</ref>
- It will appear as normal in the references list. Does this help? PhoenixCaelestis (Talk · Contributions) 01:34, 27 October 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hey there I wanted to contribute to this article Tay (chatbot) on account of my name being Taylor James, tayls4255, Tayerface in World of Warcraft. Maybe under a future sub category, such as "Future of AI" or other known chatbot quotes. I want to only include race, gender, religion if I feel it will verifiably benefit the people I'm writing about. Please let me know if you think that would be acceptable in the spirit of the article. I can send you example posts in test as well. Thank you so much for your time. --TayGhafurriest (talk) 22:10, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @TayGhafurriest! I get the impression you're asking if it's acceptable to add a section about the future of AI? Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball - articles should not predict the future or collect "unverifiable speculation, rumors, or presumptions." You are welcome to contribute to the article Tay (chatbot) in a number of other ways. Let me know if I can help you in the future! PhoenixCaelestis (Talk · Contributions) 11:28, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, my name is Diana and I am the Administrator at the School of Images in NYC. We would like to make a page about our School. I have started a page in the user Sandbox but I haven't published it. Can you explain to me the difference between a sandbox page and what would be a full page. Also, is it OK to cite sources from our School's website? (www.theschoolofimages.org) We are a nonprofit institution. Thank you. --SOI - SchoolofImages (talk) 20:54, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! A sandbox is a personal page often used to slowly create an article. It would not show up as an article, meaning you are free to leave things unfinished or messy. For someone in your situation, I recommend you read Help:My first article to learn some tips and submit the draft to Wikipedia: Articles for Creation for further help.
- Regards to citing yourself - it is recommended that each article should have three citations that are from reliable sources that are independent of the topic and that have substantial (not just mentions) of this topic.
- Does this help? GGOTCC 17:51, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

This can be done, IIRC, via a statement or something similar. Then, follow the instructions at this page and upload the photo to commons. The upload link at commons is here. [edit]Need to change the title of the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srinivasa_Ramanujan_Institute_of_Basic_Sciences to Srinivasa Ramanujan Institute FOR Basic Sciences. I am unable to find the move page option.
Thanks for your time! --Sreejith4142 (talk) 09:58, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! The reason why you cannot move pages is because you are not autoconfirmed. This is to prevent page move vandalism from drive-by pranksters. To become autoconfirmed, your account needs to be at least 4 days old and have made at least 10 edits. You can achieve this by editing constructively for a few days. If you want the article moved sooner, you could look into asking someone else to move the page.
- By the way, it is possible to link to Wikipedia pages in a more visually appealing way. You put the page's title (including any namespace prefix) in double square brackets [[like this]]. QwertyForest (talk) 11:25, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Infobox spacing
[edit]Hi PhoenixCaelestis - I notice that in this edit you added additional spaces after "|" and around "=" throughout the infobox. Over time I have noticed other editors doing the same - and yet others removing them wholesale. So far as I can see, both versions present the same result, and I have never seen an explanation in edit summaries. My curiosity is picqued - and I would like to understand why one layout is preferred to the other. Cheers - Davidships (talk) 00:59, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- Shite.. it's not me, Davidships. Editing infoboxes in visual editor oddly adds spaces after and around those two characters. I've no way to control it besides using source editor, which is too much of a headache for me to navigate; I don't use it unless I absolutely have to. It's a known bug and has been listed for a while, see this Phabricator page if you're curious. PhoenixCaelestis ‣ Talk // Contributions 01:16, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

Wanted to ask if you could advise on how I can go about doing this? Or who can I ask for help? --Fuggyholic (talk) 02:42, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

However, I would caution you to gain some experience editing Wikipedia before you begin writing an article. As an addition, when you do begin, please ensure these articles are not promotional in tone. All sources must be independent and neutral.
