Hey, this is where you can ask me questions if you want. If you have questions about Wikipedia itself, your best bet might be the Teahouse, but otherwise, just click 'New Section', sign your name with those quadruple tildes ('~~~~'), and I'll get back to you when I can. It helps if you ping me. If you don't know how to do this, just copy and paste {{ping|TheTechnician27}}, {{re|TheTechnician27}}, or {{u|TheTechnician27}} before your message.

... for the barnstar for today's story about Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild, BWV 79, on the occasion for which it was written, Reformation Day - it's not only Halloween today. You are invited to the peer reviews for another candidate. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:02, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
Would you be interested to look at TI-84 Plus series again?
[edit]You reviewed for GA status, and failed, the article TI-84 Plus series. All the issues you mentioned - and quite a bit more - have been fixed since then (they were bits of the old article which I had not rewritten yet). Since you seemed originally interested in reviewing it, would you attempt a second review? - OmegaAOL (talk page, and contribs) 01:37, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- I could tell you at a glance that it's likely C-class close to B-class or GA-class (hard to immediately tell which without research). The article cites other wikis three times, and Wikipedia does not cite such user-generated content as a reliable source (fails B-class and GA-class criterion 1 for reliable sources). I think you're doing a good job and headed in the right direction with the article at a glance, and I'd be happy to come in and try cleaning up small, stylistic issues before the review starts, as even that kind of cleanup often reveals deeper problems if they exist. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 13:14, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi and thanks for the comment! The article currently cites no user-generated sources, can you give me an example of what you think is WP:UGC?
- WikiTI is the wiki cited, but although it uses MediaWiki (like Wikipedia) it works a bit differently to Wikipedia in that not anyone can just contribute. OmegaAOLtalk? 07:43, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Removed the WikiTI citation. Now that there is no UGC, I am reupgrading the article to B-Class. OmegaAOLtalk? 14:15, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive
[edit]
Hello TheTechnician27:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.

TFA

Thank you today for Ovalipes catharus, "about the New Zealand paddle crab, Ovalipes catharus. It's one of twelve species of Ovalipes and the only one found in New Zealand. Known for their paddle-shaped rear legs, high aggression, voraciousness, and proneness to cannibalism. I found this a couple months back in this state, where its last two major contributions were by Prosperosity and Ttbioclass (the latter being a student editor who did almost all of the work on the 'Mating and reproduction' section). However, major edits prior to these – while helping to expand the article – had what I felt were severe problems with copy-editing and focus (for example, at one point, comparing these crabs to prawns by saying they don't have a narrow body and tail). I quickly realized I had to rip out basically everything before the 'Mating and reproduction' section and start from scratch, and so I did."! - Enjoy your first TFA day! - I struggle with a FAC for laughter for Christmas, second round, in case of interest. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:18, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, congrats! I was very happy to see a crab on the main page. (My own first TFA, Macrobdella decora is scheduled in a few days time, so it looks like it's invertebrate week for Wikipedia.) Cremastra (talk · contribs) 16:15, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you both!! Cremastra, congratulations in advance on your first TFA! Not only that, but the second FA for an annelid after leech. Between these two and Alicella gigantea thanks to AxonsArachnida, I agree: invertebrates are eating good. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 18:40, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Cremastra Well done. The inverts are getting lots of love at the moment. AxonsArachnida (talk) 20:26, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @TheTechnician27 I mean! I am very jetlagged. AxonsArachnida (talk) 23:06, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- @AxonsArachnida: I didn't take anything by it; Cremastra absolutely deserves that congratulations just as much. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 00:58, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
