Function overview: Leaderboard and participant pages for Articles for Creation backlog drives; duplication of Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/IngenuityBot
Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automated
Programming language(s): Pywikibot
Source code available: User:IngenuityBot/backlogdrive.py
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Articles for creation#Next backlog drive, specifically Special:GoToComment/c-Ingenuity-20251122053800-Bunnypranav-20251122034900
Edit period(s): Thrice per day, for a month during the drive
Estimated number of pages affected: One per drive participant, plus the leaderboard page. Just about 100+ considering last drive as an example.
Namespace(s): Wikipedia
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): No, but not applicable
Function details: Ingenuity mentioned that they are not able to automate and run the bot more then once a day, hence I am volunteering to run this on my bot, hosted on Toolforge and scheduled thrice a day. I am running their code with no changes. I would appreciate to get an approval to run this for any future drives as well. Thank you! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 10:30, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Will update the leaderboard page (for example, the page for next month's backlog drive will be Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/January 2023 Backlog Drive/Leaderboard). The bot will also create a page listing reviews for each participant in the drive (for example, my page would be Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/January 2023 Backlog Drive/Participants/Ingenuity.
I will run this in the December 2025 drive, as discussed at AFC talk, so I would appreciate a quick approval. Thanks! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 10:37, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Speedily Approved. Same code as prior drives and localised to a single project. Primefac (talk) 12:34, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Primefac! I was wondering if you would approve a small change of running it 4 times a day (changed from thrice) in the above task, so I can run it every 6 hours. I believe that 4 times will be more helpful for the participants as well as re-reviews. Thank you for your time! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 09:37, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- That's fine. Primefac (talk) 09:44, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
