Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources/Search
This page shows how to set up a search box that searches individual sources in Perennial sources. It currently searches exclusively for subpages of Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources/all.
The default search uses exact word match for title words, so Daily finds 'Daily Mail', 'China Daily' and many others, but Dail finds no results. Adding trailing asterisk ( * ) causes full text match, so that Dail* finds all of the ones from 'Daily', but also finds 'Breitbart News', because the table row has the word 'Daily' in it.
Note: The input box, documented at mw:Extension:InputBox, appears to draw its dropdown suggestions only from mainspace, even though the search is carried out exclusively in project space, under the prefix given above. This might be a bug; for now, please ignore dropdown suggestions. The HTML form element <input> takes the attribute |autcomplete=off to disable the dropdown, but the mw extension does not appear to support it.
As of 20 September, the input box below searches only perennial sources starting with letters B, C, or D (including some with leading The, as in "The Conversation").
