Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Indo-Pakistani war of 1947โ1948, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 17:06, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipediaโs norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

- None of my edits contradicts these five points. I'm just curious why an editor suddenly reverted 5000 bytes without doing a consensus whereas you can see the talk page of the article that while adding these, it was discussed on the tp. แถแตแถฅแตโฟแตแถฅ (talk) 06:14, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Battle of Jassar
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Battle of Jassar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.hilal.gov.pk/view-article.php?i=6552 and https://tribune.com.pk/story/2434281/1965-war-their-finest-hour. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image โ which means allowing other people to use it for any reason โ then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. SunloungerFrog (talk) 08:29, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Draftify it. Will work on it later and submit via AfC. ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ต๐๐ฟ (แดแดสแด) 13:16, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Battle of Jassar
[edit]
Hello Lt.gen.zephyr! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Battle of Jassar, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted material from other websites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from https://web.archive.org/web/20250325211044/https://www.hilal.gov.pk/view-article.php?i=6552 https://tribune.com.pk/story/2434281/1965-war-their-finest-hour, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate your contributions, copying content from other websites is unlawful and against Wikipedia's copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are likely to lose their editing privileges.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:
- Have the author release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License (CC BY-SA 4.0) by leaving a message explaining the details at Talk:Battle of Jassar and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en
wikimedia.org". Make sure they quote the exact page name, Battle of Jassar, in their email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions. - If you hold the copyright to the work: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en
wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Battle of Jassar. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions. - If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC BY-SA), version 4.0", or that the work is released into the public domain, or if you have strong reason to believe it is, leave a note at Talk:Battle of Jassar with a link to where we can find that note or your explanation of why you believe the content is free for reuse.
It may also be necessary for the text to be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for a template of the permissions letter the copyright holder is expected to send.
Otherwise, you may rewrite this article from scratch. If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Battle of Jassar saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.
Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:33, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've also removed non-free content copied by you from an external source from Draft:Inderbal Singh Bawa (see below). Please read and take notice of our copyright policy, and be aware that editors who repeatedly violate that policy risk permanent loss of editing privileges. If there's any other page where you've copied non-free external content, please mention it here so that it too can be cleaned up. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:27, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
Inderbal Singh Bawa moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Inderbal Singh Bawa. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and there's hardly anything left after removal of the copyvio. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:51, 25 April 2025 (UTC)

Behappyyar (talk) 17:15, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Both are same person. Merging Bhopinder Singh to Bhupinder Singh Thakur would be a good decision, as Bhupinder Singh Thakur has more references and looks reliable. ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ต๐๐ฟ (แดแดสแด) 17:23, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the Talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences โ Editing โ

The article Dharambir Singh Sihag has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While brave, there is not in-depth coverage to meet WP:GNG, and would not have met WP:NSOLDIER, prior to it being deprecated.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. [edit]Hi! When you have a moment would you please reply to my comments at Talk:ISPR? Thanks. (โ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ฌ โ - talk) 08:38, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

- There are multiple ISPR's, not just the one. - The Bushranger One ping only 08:57, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- There are only two ISPR, one under Bangladesh Armed Forces and another under Pakistan Armed Forces. Pakistan one was created way before Bangladesh one's, as Pakistan got independence before Bangladesh. ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ต๐๐ฟ (แดแดสแด) 09:00, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- Again, the Pakistan ISPR article is older then Bangladesh. No other thing primarily appears except Pakistan ISPR on a simple google search. Ref names
[edit]When using ref names you do not need to define the ref each time. The whole point of the ref names, is that you define the ref name once, and the rest of the time you just use the ref name. For example:
References

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Battle of Hussainiwala. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Thank you for your work on this article. Since it falls under WP:BLP, please add more sources and be sure to footnote each sentence with a reliable source. Also, circular citations to Wikipedia (footnote 6) are not allowed. Thanks and have a good day!

Do not mis-tag statements in articles
[edit]
The failed verification tag is for statements that are not supported by the cited source. It is not an appropriate tag when the source supports the statements. You wrongly applied the failed verification tag in this edit to Abhinandan Varthaman. -- Toddy1 (talk) 20:58, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
