Question from Sahip Giray (01:50, 9 November 2025)
| result = Tactical Ottoman victory; strategic Portuguese control maintained.[1][2][3][4]
| casualties1 = Few[4]
| casualties2 = 5 Ottoman galleys lost (Seydi Ali Reis); Portuguese losses reported as 8–10 ships in modern sources.[2][1][3]

Contemporary and modern accounts differ on the result of the battle. Portuguese chronicles written in the 16th–19th centuries describe a Portuguese victory, but primary and modern Ottoman sources present another picture. According to Seydi Ali Reis' own account, Mir'âtü'l-Memâlik, five Ottoman galleys were lost while Portuguese losses were heavy; the Portuguese fleet withdrew from the area. Modern historians such as Giancarlo Casale and Salih Özbaran conclude that the engagement was a tactical Ottoman victory, though strategic control of the Indian Ocean remained with Portugal.[1][2][3][4]Harika, o zaman en gerekli olan kısmı — yani Wikipedia’daki yanlış sonucu ve kayıp bilgiler içeren “infobox” (bilgi kutusu) ile “Sonuç” paragrafını — düzeltecek tek parça wikitexti aşağıda senin için hazırladım.

(I used a machine translator this time)
I'd rather not get involved with that, unfortunately. Military history is not necessarily my forte, and I don't know what article you're talking about. 🌙Eclipse (she/they/all neos • talk • edits) 01:55, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
Hi, is there a way to change Zhang Ziyi's profile picture? I work for Zhang Ziyi's American representation at the Gersh Agency, and we don't believe it accurately reflects her appearance. I have a file that Zhang Ziyi's agent set, could I upload it to her page? --Salcido543 (talk) 02:42, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
Hi! I just arrived at Slender Man stabbing due to new developments in the case and saw likely policy violations regarding one person's pronouns stemming from this (and some subsequent) edits:
There were multiple pronoun edits by different temp accounts, all seemingly new, including removable of sourced information unrelated to GENSEX. Not sure how to tell if they are the same person.
I followed the recent ARBCOM case regarding this issue, but am otherwise not very familiar with Wikipedia processes and can't figure out how exactly to proceed.
If you could make sure someone who can handle this appropriately is notified, I'd be grateful. It seems interpreting the policies correctly is too much for me right now.
Hi, I'm looking to replace the photo on a page that only allows established wikipedia users to edit. Is there anywhere I can submit a replacement photo? I believe someone's profile photo has been doctored. --Salcido543 (talk) 18:38, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, what template should be used when I intend to link to a topic which has additional information?
The article I've worked on for the past few days has a history section, but I feel like it would also make sense to add a "additional info in XYZ", so to the history section of the Orthodox Church of Finland.
I used "Orthodox Church of Finland#History", but I'm unsure if the actual template I used "See also", is correct, as there is also "Further" and "More". --A Finnish Editor (talk) 09:38, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
