[edit]The tool didn't work in Firefox. Now it works, here are issues with it:
- I still have to click Tools -> Show/hide WikiNarrator twice for it to show up.
- For the Voice dropdown to not be empty on Linux I had to install
speech-dispatcher. This info would be good to add to the docs (see point 4). I also installed espeak. - The voices in the dropdown are totally unsorted – please sort them alphabetically by language.
- The voices I tried such as the default are just horrible. So maybe something else should be installed regarding point 2. I also could not find "Google US English" that was used in the example.
- Even that example does not sound as good as the voices used in the examples of Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedia spoken by AI voice.
- Even if they did, it won't say the right thing for abbreviations or mathematical formulas and so on and it won't leave out captions which are things handled in the method used above. In addition, I don't know whether this also works on mobile for entire articles.

- @Prototyperspective: Thanks for looking further into the issue! I adjusted the language order and I added a link to this discussion on the info page for Firefox/Linux users. There is a lot of discrepancy between the quality of the voices. Microsoft's Edge browser seems to have the best quality and biggest variety, at least on my system.
